Artist Statement For This Piece:
Society puts this idea of what beauty is inside of our heads. We are either too fat, too thin, too tall, too short or etc. This piece is about breaking out of this box, being proud of you are, and finding your self-worth regardless of what society says. I hope this piece will give you the confidence and courage to do just that. It will transform the look, feel, and energy of your home or office in a very positive and uplifting way. The original poem below describes in my own words my point of view and feelings about this piece.

You might be startled
at first glance 
this courage I’ve somehow grasped 
through all of this 
There’s beauty outside the box
the one you’re in 
I can’t live suffocated 
I walk even though not perfect
I break through the walls 
I’m still trying to find my way 
despite of it all
I’ve been judged by the outside 
but it’s not me they see 
they’re living inside the box 
they don’t see the beauty.
